Flooding – 2017

May 19, 2017

This was the first big flood since we moved here in 2016. The neighbor at the time was a real nice guy named Scotty. He was pretty well-known around the towns, used to run a local bar. If you ask someone from around here if they know “where the chicken car used to be” that’s Scotty. I slept through the storm and woke up to the Sheriff’s Department banging on the door to do a welfare check. I went out front and our lower property and all of 1500 Old Gallatin was a lake. The cops had to take a boat to get to us. Pictured is the helicopter which had to get Scotty off the roof of his trailer which was flooded almost all the way up.

These photos are all taken from significantly higher up. I don’t have any photos of actual 1500 Old Gallatin because it was entirely underwater.
